Thai Village

Cheryl is thrilled to serve at Thai Village as a volunteer working in areas of administrative support, inventory systems development, marketing, staff training and relational outreach.

Thai Village is a non-profit organization working with low income populations in Northern Thailand. We provide vocational training and income generation projects in handicraft sales which currently provide work for around 100 artisans enabling them to support their families and build up their communities from within. You can get to know some of our artisans here.

Thai Village provides training in stitching, dress-making, wood-working, tin-smithing, silver-smithing, soap-making, card-making and jewelry design, all using traditional techniques and sourcing local materials. Our products are available for sale in the US through our website and in UK and elsewhere through personal orders. (Please contact me at cheryl@thaivillage.org) All proceeds from craft sales go right back into the community, including into an artisan's matching savings program and to support further training and leadership development. 

Thai Village has a very strong relationship with the local church and from the beginning, has desired to support Thai nationals to pursue Bible education and leadership training.  This continues today through providing stipends for evangelists and church leaders. We also run frequent community outreaches in partnership with the local church, seeking to partner with our artisans in sharing the hope, joy and life that we have in Jesus.
