This is Tyler and me on our 12th wedding anniversary in Rajpur, India.
We both love to travel and explore different cultures. We were brought together by our love for Latin America and our ventures since then have led us to live and work in Ecuador, US, India and Thailand.
I refer to myself as a trailing spouse because inevitably, there is one spouse who's career determines the geographical location of a family. With us, it is Tyler but I know many trailing spouses who are men too. It can go either way.
Being a trailing spouse has its own rewards and challenges. I love the life that my husband's career in international education affords me and I wouldn't change it for the world. It is the life I always dreamed of and the life which God in His wisdom specially prepared me for. It has given us wonderful adventures and travels overseas and is allowing us to raise our children in an enriching international environment which we love. At the same time, it has led to plenty of transition stress and struggles to find my own place in the places where we have landed.
So I'm calling my blog "Tracks of a Trailing Spouse" because that is part of the uniqueness of my path in this world. I'm so thankful that in God's wisdom, he has given me meaningful work in all the places Tyler's job has led us. I'm excited to share our family's journey with you. Thanks for visiting!
